On-site sewage systems

If your home has no mains sewage connection, you’ll need an on-site sewage system.
An on-site sewage system that doesn’t adequately cope with your household’s wastewater can endanger human health and the environment.
Any system needs to be big enough and efficient enough to treat all of the wastewater from your household, and to be properly installed and maintained.
Note: if your property has a mains sewer connection, you’re legally required to use it.
